St Michael’s Hospice
Women in Business Group Nominated Charity 2006
St Michael’s Hospice is a provider of the highest quality and standard of specialist palliative care for patients in North Hampshire. Through their specialist skills and knowledge they work with patients affected by life-limiting illness to ensure they are able to live life to the fullest. Based in Basingstoke, St. Michael's Hospice is a UK registered charity and provides all its services to patients and families free of charge.
The charity receives 30% of funding through the local Primary Care Trust with the remaining £1.6 million needing to be raised through donations, fundraising, legacies and their charity shops.
They very much rely on the generosity of the local community to sustain their services and it was this charity that the Women In Business Group chose to support in 2006.
